  1. tried watching it on your twitchtv but the sound is impossible to hear even when i put it up all the way

  2. Cryptics are just awful. Maybe Mana Leaks? Add a Wrath main in place of some Cryptics or jam a couple Gideons?

Actually now that I think of it you should try Esper Blade. Inquisition/Thoughtsieze and Doom Blade/Deathmarks/Smother in the board would help so much. Right now the UW is mediocre at best.

  3. The sound from the livestreamed matches is very low and I’m really sorry about that. I thought for sure my settings were good, but I was being defaulted to my computer’s mic, which is very poor. My settings should be accurate for future streams though.

@Drew, Cryptics aren’t great in a lot of decks, but this one can put enough pressure on the board that the card is actually good. It also plays enough mana sources that Snapcasting it is a realistic possibility and since you’re still a control deck you can usually keep control of the game to the point where Cryptic makes for a reasonable counterspell except against the most aggressive decks and the one with Vial.

Wrath and Gideon are too expensive and narrow to be maindecked in this format. I’m okay with adding another Wrath to the board because of the Merfolk Menace, but not so much in the MD.

Playing a third color sacrifices a lot. You lose the manlands and the mana stability. If you want to go that route you’re probably better off with UB Delver.

  4. I played versus UW twice, and the Cryptics were wonderful in the MU (UW v Project Melira). The tap all creatures opponent controls is just as scary as the countermagic after you’ve been pecked by Hawks and Haunt tokens. I’m interested in playing the deck some; it seems fun for those that like to grind out their win turn by turn.
