You answered your own question. That maze’s end is a metagame list bred to kill esper. Rolls over and dies to aggro is exactly how it normally plays.
I’ve played against Maze’s time a few times with a B/G rock aggro deck. It just folds up and dies to that, but I could see it eating a reactive deck pretty easily.
