aww no match 3…
Before watching the video, I must make this comment.
The ability to download the videos is a necessity in order for me to enjoy them. I am on an Eyefinity setup and fullscreening a video does not work correctly.
Please make it to where we can download the video files again. Thank you.
Yes, I am not clever enough to download them in this format either. Is there an obvious way to do it that I am missing?
http://www.flashvideodownloader.org/
Yes, we all know you can download a YouTube video. But it is much more work than just clicking a button on the site.
Seems like you got a bit impatient at the end there. Dropping the Niblis and then doing the math on a potential attack seems like the reverse order of operations in the situation.
Attacking with the rats after was also highly suspect.
in match one game one it seems like it would be better instead of playing the thraben sentry to attack with everything and then unburial rites the banshee to kill his spider, that way if he draws a sever the bloodline you still win the next turn
so this appears on my screen missing the right hand side of the screen? (i.e. P1p1, I can only see the left hand side of the rare, etc.
I can’t see any obvious way of altering the window size. Anybody else having something similar?
Another “open lingering souls – take lingering souls” draft. They all look the same.
I don’t understand not playing Patrician when you had the chance. It would’ve added to your potential alpha strike the turn before you lost (although I admit I’m not sure right now if you could’ve won there), but on the last turn you would’ve certainly had 6 untapped land and Into the Maw doesn’t kill you. Not to be too critical, I doubt that I would’ve even got that far :^)
Overall, awesome videos as always, keep’em coming (especially in this time prior to the release of AVR on MTGO).
perhaps its just my client… but has anyone else experienced problems with the limited resources clan on mtgo? it still shows i’m a member, but i’m not on the chat window list, and there are only 3 people in that list. i have talked to a few others that i am buddies with outside the chat window, and they are all experiencing the same thing. the ORCS dont know what up either.
navigating thru the MENU>Community>Clans>Limited Resources shows the same thing… 3 members, 214,000+ packs won
Tough draft but I really think some of your early decisions came back to bite you. I really don’t know if I would pick lingering souls instead of the black 3/3 flier. That card wins you the game if your opponent can’t handle it. Lingering souls is not good without the flashback. But, you already stated that having passed good cards in black, you want to stay out of that color. But, that means you’ll have to go into a 3rd color and splash black for the flashback.
Frankly, I think you missed the boat on blue, there was a stormbound geist available I think 5th pick and there were some more good cards in blue available 8th or 9th like griptide and even saving grasp which can be insane if you pick up the right cards to go with it in the ISD packs. U/W fliers is the best archetype available anyway so I’m not sure why you passed on it to go into green for some mediocre cards.
Black was never really open (not surprising given how the draft started) and you were short a few playables. I also don’t know why you are running evolving wilds in a 2 color deck. You also never saw any premium cards in white, no bonds of faith, fiend hunter, geist-honored monk and in general I think you only had one flier. I’m surprised you made it as far as you did.
Then again, your opponents went into bad archetypes themselves (particularly the round 1 opponent).
I mean hind sight is 20/20 but not casting a lifelink guy for no reason is definitely the wrong line of play. Tough beats but you didn’t play properly therefore you lost. Gaining 3 life the turn after you would of cast it, then having 3 more life and having rebuke mana up allows you to possibly win this game. Keeping a creature in hand DEFINITELY lost you that game, especially one with lifelink.
Several times in M2G2 you had the chance to flip your sentry at instant speed and blank his removal by using Urgent Exorcism on your niblis. Might not have been the right play but you didn’t mention that line at all. I probably would have considered getting the value there of a 5/4 trample and blanking a removal spell for the price of 2 cards.
Thanks for making something for us cool to watch we appreciate the vids
I also really need the ability to download videos. I watch them off-line on airplanes while traveling for business, or in my car during my lunch break. Please restore downloads.
First, I love your videos, and hope that you are able to keep them coming.
That being said, I thought that you really missed out on using the green cards you had picked up. I felt like with the evolving wilds that you had picked up, it would have been perfectly sensible to splash both gutter grime and travel preparations. Even running 2 or 3 forests with the wilds would have made them playable and the fact that you had ZERO double white spells means that you could have easily justified doing so. I think that the upside of those two cards compared to main decking urgent exorcism is too big to be ignored. The Grime in particular when you have an unburial rites becomes better, it IS slow and grindy, but it seemed like you just didn’t have enough gas to really rush them unless you got lucky
You also DEFINITELY should have sided in the Grime versus 2 Geistflames (not to mention the orchard spirit instead of one of your 1 toughness guys).
Ya, having no removal other than a Rebuke and the Banshee and only Moment for tricks was really what doomed your aggro deck here. Once they put down 1 thing to stabilize, you were scrambling and ended up stalling out. A splash of some of your more powerful, cards could have helped you pull through some of those games.
I don’t care about being able to download, but the Youtube videos definitely are not as high-quality as the usual ones.
I didn’t recognize the art from the card Limited Resources at first and was very confused about the random cleavage
First of all, I really like your videos and the site. I only watched Channel Fireball videos but after seeing yours and some of the other MTGO academy posters’ videos, the strength of the players seems about as high but the quality of the videos themselves is much higher.
Having said that, I’m trying to watch all your videos and learn as much as possible. In match two game three, when he alpha strikes at the very end and you end up taking ten, could you have put your fox on the scourge and your niblis on the flame thrower, then before combat damage, sacrifice the fox to exile your own niblis? Exiling a creature doesn’t trigger the flamethrower and you end up only taking two from the fox dying and four from the other ground attackers.
Whoops, nevermind. I thought Silverchase said “spirit or enchantment”. Sorry.
