  1. That deck is so much worse than Naya Blitz. You try to have a better lategame but you end up making your deck have much more bad draws. Wolfbitten Captive is simply a bad Experiment One and Electrickery? Really?

  2. @Shooter – always nice to see the hater being there for you :).

What can i say? This kind of build actualy gives me insane matchup against blitz, and it gives me a mid game. In the world where every deck HAS to have a way to deal with blitz all in strategy i actualy think this is a much better way of dealing with the metagame. I don’t have to be all-in every game, i can play a game with garruk or of flipping huntmasters, and i still get to get those nutty draws of champion into bte into mayor, even if they are not so common.

Electrickery is a meta call between pillar, electrickery and geistflame. It deals with souls, decks that want to play more than four mana dorks and is rarely useless (and where it is 2 damage from other two spells wouldnt matter so much), it proved well so far.

@Matthew – i honestly don’t have a clue why? Maybe because I’m from dark, cold country where we still have winter and snow, and this kinda gets to you, and you either complain a bunch or drink a lot of vodka. And i don’t like vodka.

  3. For what it’s worth, I don’t think you even complained that much. And you also noted when you yourself got a God draw in Round 4, Game 2.

  4. Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy watching your weekly dailies, and thank you for the effort put into making the videos. Your hard work is really appreciated!

  5. I know you mentioned this, but having so few spells to cast off of a turn two emissary is unfortunate. For this reason, I think lightning mauler might be a nice inclusion. You claimed to have some of the early explosive potential of blitz with a mid-range finish, but this claim seems rather empty to me without the mauler. 27 mana sources feels like a lot, but the combination of awkward sources like cavern of souls, gavony township, and avacyn’s pilgrim may justify the number. I am just concerned that some otherwise good hands will be prone to flooding (such as champion, emissary, mayor, 4 land).

I agree that electrickery is good in some match ups, perhaps most notably junk reanimator, but it still seems like a dicey main deck inclusion. I am curious about your reasoning behind a 4-1 split between o-rings and fiend hunters in the 75, particularly when thalia is waiting in the sideboard. Do you find that the blowout potential is too high with fiend hunter?

  6. I very much disagree with shooter on the fundamentals of the deck. It completely rolls naya blitz, while generally retaining sufficient aggro elements to beat the decks that naya blitz does. Blitz is not a deck if your opponent can stop you from attacking with 3 creatures, this deck plays creatures that are individually powerful and still has most of the CoP nut draws.

I do have a few quibbles with the list though. You side out captive in every matchup on the vid, and I don’t think you’d keep it in vs blitz, I can’t see why it’s there except to prove your point that it’s better than ex1 in the deck – that might be true, but I think lightning maulers are better than either here as mathisje said. You don’t have enough cards to take advantge of BTE here imo, and lightning mauler works great with your 3 drops too.

I’m also iffy on maindeck electrickery. If you had a good chance of casting it on turn 1 I’d probably be all for it, as it hits dangerous growing threats like CoP, stromkirk and ex1, but with only 8 untapped red sources (which you need to telegraph on the play too, which makes them even worse), you’ll only have the card + mana to play them turn 1 something like 15% of the time which means you’re really only hitting mana dorks and lingering souls reliably. That sounds like a sideboard card to me.

Finally, your disdain for ghor-clan is obvious, but you have zero trample here and trample is amazing with silverblade and against lingering souls tokens. idk if selesnya charm in the board is an option you’d get behind, but silverblade is so weak to souls without trample that I’d really want some way to give him it here.

  7. Thanks for long comments guys :)

First – mmeta went completely sideways and sadly i think that the deck is actualy unplayable right now. Aristocrats Reckoner Nayas, uwr with a lot of removal even RG with sb blasphemous act are really bad news I’m affraid. I decided to play a deck that hits exactly those strategies for now.

But, if meta swings back anytime and ppl are not actualy on dumb midrange and mono removal decks I’m definitely going back to that. Regarding electrickery – PB you answered yourself – it deals with most of things that you would want to deal with using the rampager. It’s an often 2 for 1 card and it’s only dead against control.

As to Captive – i think i need a critical mass of cheap humans to make this deck good and i prefer a creature that decent early and is actualy very good in late game. I had games i was winning on the back of this 6/6 guy for 1 mana. Also – as to mauler against captive – captive actualy does have a synergy with unused btw mana, you just pump him up. I side him out usualy, yes, but i bring different cards in that spot. I feel that i would do the same with the mauler. Maybe it should be 2 oblivion rings, that is debatable.

As to the mathijse questions about incositency i think PB answered it pretty well :)
