  1. Yeah, it was a recording error. Sorry about that. But what happens is that Ryan’s opponent concedes a few seconds later (if I recall).

  2. Hi Ryan

I enjoyed the videos, as always. I have a somewhat related question.

What is good to sideboard in green against red/blue delver? Delver is practically unbeatable against almost every matchup except affinity and Jund (and those match-ups are a toss-up). It has the two cards that most need to be banned in Modern: Delver of Secrets (a 3/2 flier for 1? in blue? what happened to blue being defensive?) and Snapcaster Mage (there are no competitive blue decks that don’t run 4, allows blue players to disregard the laws of probability, hand size, and card advantage that every other color must follow). I’d actually be interested in see you play it, but I’d also like to see you try green devotion.

    There’s a few things I’ve tried:
combust: requires splashing red. pretty good against splinter twin and hate bears, but not great against most other decks. Not great against delver because it gets countered by the 4x vapor snare they run.
dismember: sometimes works, but the 4 life you lose in green is quite bad against control/aggro. Plus, if it gets countered or vapor snagged, it is a complete blow-out.
abrupt decay: requires splashing black, at which point you might as well run jund anyway, but also usually gets countered by vapor snag anyway
choke: I haven’t actually tried it, but the main issue I see with it is that at CMC:3, I imagine it rarely gets in under permission and never out before delver hits the board. Plus, with all the nonbasics in modern right now I feel like it would make very little difference
boseiju: ok, but the two life for each use can add up, plus it only works with sorceries and instants.
vexing shusher: dies to virtually every removal spell in the format

    Any other suggestions?

  3. Hey loved your videos, just have a quick question for you. Where do I get me some of them borderless lands? Their beautiful.

  4. Thanks for the feedback everyone :)
To Anon, yeah my recording cut out even though my recording program was still working. I just casted Vines on that turn and the Scapeshift player lost.
To DrDrJ, I think the easiest way to get around Blue Red Delver is to go wider than they do. Their deck is good at handling one threat at a time but I feel like if you overload the board, they won’t be able to handle it. Also, Dismember seems like a good answer you can run without having to splash another color. They usually don’t have more than one or two threats in play, so spot removal is great against them.
To Taun, I actually made those lands myself. With the old client, all the pictures you see in game are saved to your computer. So all you have to do is go into the program files, then find the art you want to replace. open it in Paint and Paste in the new art and save it. For those lands, I took the art files for the actual pictures and pasted it over the file for the Zendikar land border file.

  5. Thank you for your input Points. Clearly you have a sound thought process, which is why you don’t even need a coherent reason for the thinking the most aggressive 1 – drop in Modern should be blue, which obviously has always been the most balanced color in Magic. I’m sure you also believe that Wild Nactl was deserving of it’s long – time ban, even though it isn’t evasive and is only seen in tier 3 decks, at best. But no worries, I’m sure that by keeping all overpowered blue cards in your deck, you will continue your streak of undeserved wins, as will the other 80% of all Magic players who play blue.

  6. Don’t you think 22 lands is a bit too many?
I personally did cut 2 and added 2 Livewire Lash for some reach.
