1. I didn’t want to clutter the article with a giant list, but here is such a list to help you get a feel for Free Magic deck design:

    Random Piece of Free Magic:
    Resounding Silence, Barren Glofry, Reviving Vapors, Spirit of the Night, Putrefy, Benthicore, Torrent of Souls, Ad Nauseam, Frantic Salvage, Seize the Day, Break Asunder, Spearbreaker Behemoth, River Kelpie, Devouring Light, Maelstrom Nexus, Empyrial Archangel, Suffer the Past, Anavolver, Conquering Manticore, Guile, Plagiarize, Irresistible Prey, Defiler of Souls, Muse Vessel, Riku of Two Reflections, Thunder Dragon, Savage Beating

    Also, if you’d like to join me on twitter, I’ll be discussing Dark Ascension and its implications for a bunch of formats.

  2. Never heard of that, sounds pretty fun. Will definitly try it! :)
    As for DKA: Archangel’s Light will be awesome.

  3. Your cube looks a lot like what I am morphing mine into. I’m glad you posted it.. I’ll be using it as a guide! Glad to see you too have peace strider, pierce strider, and kiss of the amesha in your cube.

  4. Not that this wasn’t a good article or anything, but i think you should post more grinding videos more frequently. I don’t play on modo, only on paper, so it’s tough to get my magic fix during the week, and being able to load up a daily event or something to that effect is really entertaining.

    TLDR;

    More videos, more often.

  5. Hi Vince,

    Just so you know, _ShipItHolla posts Constructed MTGO “grinding” videos weekly, usually of a DE. This week is an exception, but stop by every Monday for more, or check out our backlog.

  6. Pretty lazy article, I thought we’d get some videos of games of these formats. Basically just a description of what they are…………….

  7. Pretty lazy “readers.” They need videos or their eyes glaze over. Very fun article thanks for sharing!

  8. Awesome alt ways of playing Magic. I have played MTGO for 3 years and over the last 6 months have started to play in paper. This is great variation and allows me to use cards that will never really make it into a constructed deck.

    Lol at anyone that complains about this article. I have followed this author for awhile and he puts in a huge time commitment and effort into the game to provide interesting content (video and written), all of which I get to consume for free.

    So, I say: Thank you _ShipItHolla, I appreciate all that you give.

  9. Thanks for the tips about “Seven.” Sounds like a fun format. Have you played it much since you wrote this article? Any new insights to add?
