Stopped watching after first pick…………………..
Stillmoon Cavalier can fly with a Sword
You’re planning on going RW, you pass a Sulfuric Vortex to hate a rude awakening? I’m confused.
I believe it was a mistake to use Mox Diamond play the Land Tax in the last game.
If you had used your land he could either not play a land, which is good for you or he could play his land anyway. (In hindsight seeing he has Sakura Tribe Elder and Somberwald Sage, this is what he would have done) You got way behind not having your first land.
If you played your land on turn one, you would have had 2 lands and a Mox Diamond on your second turn.
@ XTREME: Stopped reading after you wrote “Stopped watching”…
@Bachster
The land in his opener was clifftop retreat, so he couldn’t have played land tax on turn one if he had played his land. Also, since he only had 1 land in his opener, he wouldn’t have been able to have 2 lands and a mox on turn 2.
@ XTREME
Could you at least explain what you didn’t like about his first pick? How is your comment constructive?
before i watched the games
seriously consider this advise:
Play more lands for so many reasons:
-horrible colors
-colorless lands
-mox diamond
-not too low curve, want to play multiple creatures in one turn
-ARMAGEDDONS.. so often the game is not over after and 2 lands in hand wins the game
-EQUIPMENT also big deal here, equipment costs so much in limited,
also the big reason why theyre so good, they are mana sinks.
-other late game sinks like a shade, 8.5, echo, mikeus
-thalia into armageddon costs 5
-horrible colors
i would not mind playing 17 or even consider 18 lands + mox
also for these reasons i would have picked the p-myr the first time around the table.
also, armageddon makes card advantage way less relevant
after seeing it in action i would play 17 land on the play and 16 on the draw

@GZA729: Gah! That probably cost me, haha. I think I was so used to playing with the two split up versions of Cavalier (from my cube) that I forgot it could do that.
@Helpful Stranger: I wasn’t sure how deep into red I would be, though if I had more time to consider I probably would have taken the Vortex. I just don’t know how Rude Awakening always comes back. xP
@Bachster: It being a Clifftop might have something to do with my play. I don’t think I even considered that line.
@chris: I opted to play “fewer” because of the Land Tax.
