The Drawing Board with Travis R. Chance: Christmas Spectacular
Posted on December 27, 2011 by Travis R. Chance
you’re gorgeous
Yay!
Ha!
Happy holidays, ya pack a babbages!!!
I never noticed how stupid Karn actually looks. Thanks for pointing that out!
Carapce looks like it has balls on his back.
Yeah. I said that already. :/
While were at it, the thing on the Masticores tail more looks like a glans and not so much like balls. Which is even more disgusting.
To address some of your points:
Recycle: I always took the art to imply (rather unsubtly) that Gerrard is literally eating crap. That’s how a closed ecosystem works, and judging by his expression he wasn’t aware of that yet.
Magnigoth Treefolk: Lumberknot has pretty scary art.
Karplusan Minotaur: According to Wikipedia, the original minotaur of mythology “devoured man for sustenance” (and you don’t want to know how it came into being).
Sorrow’s Path: You easily could (and quite possibly should) fill an entire Drawing Board episode with the art of Randy Asplund-Faith (or, as he apparently prefers to be called these days, Randy Asplund; more heartbreak?). I especially recommend Ebon Praetor and Undertow.
Wow, that was quite an informed and well spoken reply! Hope you guys enjoyed this one; been a good while since I was inspired to make one of these.
Over the course of the holiday weekend I did two more decktech/game vids for Commander: the first on one of my most competitive gems, the other a deck I crapped out then and there and ran to some success. Stay tuned for more rambling, incoherent banter, and victory!
nice, cool, funny, thanks
Hey Travis,
I’m just wondering what your new deck was going to be about, and I thought of a General/Commander that seems to follow the Combo-Oriented Style of the decks you have posted recently. This General would be: Riku of Two Reflections. This guy practically screams BROKEN! He (Or rather THEY…) serve as a “Mirari” and a never-ending clone… I’ve been brewing up something with this General, and found him to be great with spells like “Time Warp” and “Temporal Manipulation”. He could also be used to copy small rampant growths, or as a finisher: “Searing Wind”. While RUG isn’t the strongest of color combinations, I predict that Riku could bring the best of those three colors together and combo-out very quickly.
Please let me know, and happy brewing!
